NEW DELHI: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) on Monday once more cautioned its gamers, coaches and technical employees and requested them to keep away from unauthorised tournaments after it got here to gentle {that a} Goa-based organisation is conducting such an occasion subsequent month.
In line with a launch issued by BAI, Goa-based organisation Youth & Sports activities Improvement Affiliation of India is conducting the third Nationwide Federation Cup subsequent month in Madgaon, Goa, with the organisers claiming that it will likely be a range trial for upcoming worldwide championships.
“Neither BAI nor its affiliated unit Goa Badminton Association is aware of such tournaments and organisation,” BAI Basic Secretary Ajay Singhania mentioned within the launch.
“Surprisingly the organisers have talked about that they are going to choose gamers for worldwide championships, which is completely a false and deceptive announcement as solely nationwide sports activities federation is eligible to decide on and ship gamers for participation in tournaments overseas.
“It is unhappy and clear that some events with vested pursuits, with ulterior motives of business acquire, try to take action. Such competitions usually are not legally tenable.”
The federation mentioned that strict motion shall be taken towards its registered gamers, coaches or technical employees in the event that they take part in any unauthorised league or event in any a part of the nation.
“BAI and its affiliated models usually are not focused on what an unauthorised company or organisation is doing, however we’re involved about our registered gamers,” Singhania mentioned.
“We strictly advise that registered gamers of affiliated models shouldn’t get divulged and take part in any such unauthorised tournaments, which can trigger deactivation of their BAI ID and debarment in any tournaments being organised by affiliated models and Badminton Affiliation of India.”
The governing physique had issued circulars (dated Nov 29, 2020, Feb 27, 2019, and Nov 14, 2018) prior to now too, mentioning that registered gamers, technical officers or coaches will face debarment and ban as per Constitutional Guidelines & Rules of BAI in the event that they participate in any unauthorised event.
