Louisville – Richard E. Zogg was born April 29, 1924 in Belleville, Illinois, the center son of Adolph G. Zogg and Adalia S. Joerg. He grew up in Belleville and upon commencement from Excessive College began school at Blackburn School. He enlisted within the Navy throughout WWII the place he served on a number of LSTs within the Pacific.
